Every fisher worth their salt should always be well-supplied to catch whatever fish are available. To that end, you should have a fishing boat with great accessories on it, but you also need to have a tackle box that’s stocked with the tools you need to succeed. Here are some recommendations of what to add to your tackle box if you’re new to the fishing world.

Bobbers, Lures & Sinkers

Your tackle box needs to contain a selection of bobbers, lures, and sinkers to add to your hook. Bobbers float on the surface of the water and show you when your line has a bite on it; the standard red-and-white orb is a classic bobber to have. Lures allow you to catch fish when you don’t have live bait, so carry many different types. Sinkers are weights you add to your hook to draw it deeper into the water.

Extra Fishing Line

You should also make sure to stock extra fishing line, as your line can easily become tangled on objects underwater or it may snap when a heavy fish pulls too hard on it. Carry both heavy and light lines for best results.

Needle-Nosed Pliers

A pair of pliers is a must in a tackle box. You never know when you’ll need them to pull a hook out of a fish or bend a wire for a hook.
